<p>Sumukha Yoga The lord of the 2nd house is in a Kendra aspected by benefics, or benefics occupy the 2nd house (Sarvartha Chintamani 3/26). Result : The person will have a happy and attractive face.   Voshi Yoga A planet, other than Moon, occupies the 12th house from Sun. Look out for the variety with the same name. Result : The person will exercise no restraint of speech, having eloquence, good learning, wide renown, sharp memory, physical strength and charitable nature. Untruthful, walking with the gaze directed downwards and given to excessive physical effort.   Voshi Yoga (Benefics) A benefic, other than Moon, occupies the 12th house from Sun. Result : This variety of Voshi Yoga shows that the person is intelligent, learned, strong, wealthy and engaged in scientific pursuits.   Parakrama yoga The 3rd house lord is in a benefic Navamsha sign conjunct or aspected by benefics, and Mars is placed in a benefic sign (original source unknown). Result : Great courage is bestowed upon the person.   Tirthayatra Yoga A benefic planet in the 8th house aspected by another benefic (Sambu Hora Prakasha 14/9). Result : The person will go on a pilgrimage and visit many places that have religious or spiritual significance to him/her.   Sunapha (Guru) Yoga Jupiter occupies the 2nd house from Moon. Result : This variety of Sunapha Yoga indicates that the person excels in every branch of learning, is a preceptor, widely renown, very wealthy, favored by the ruler, and blessed with a good family. Lives a sinless life to one hundred years of age.   Lakshmi Yoga The Lagna lord is abundantly strong, and the lord of the 9th house occupies a Kendra identical to his own house, his Moolatrikona, or his exaltation. Result : The person is good in looks, virtuous, very wealthy, owns vast lands, learned, and illustrious king, widely renowned, blessed with numerous spouses, and children.   Surya-Budha Yoga Sun and Mercury are conjunct in the same house  (also known as Budhadhiya Yoga). Result : The person is sweet tongued, clever, scholarly, virtuous and will have learning, wealth, progeny and self-control, earns wealth by serving others. Also said to be highly intelligent, skillful in all works with a good reputation (Still a very common Yoga).   Karmajiva Yoga The lord of the Navamsha occupying the 10th lord is Sun (Brihat Jataka 10/2). Result : Wealth and livelihood will come to the person through scented articles, gold, wool and medicines. The person could be a medical person or assistant to medical practices. The person could also earn through his/her father (Sun).   Karmajiva Yoga Mars rules the 10th house from Lagna, Moon or Sun (Brihat Jataka). Result : (To a lesser degree than other Karmajiva Yogas) This combination could support other combinations indicating a profession of Mars, connected to minerals, fire (fireworks, kitchen, engine driving or any work connected to heat or fire), weapons, adventures and physical strength.   Karmajiva Yoga Mercury rules the 10th house from Lagna, Moon or Sun (Brihat Jataka). Result : (To a lesser degree than other Karmajiva Yogas) This combination could support other combinations indicating a profession connected to Mercury, like a mechanic, painter, sculptor, engraver, architect or scent-maker.   Karmajiva Yoga Jupiter aspects or conjuncts the lord of the 10th from Lagna, Moon or Sun (Brihat Jataka). Result : The person will have a child that is legitimately his/her own.   Matrudirgayur Yoga The lord of the Navamsha sign holding the 4th house lord is strong and is located in a Kendra from Lagna or Moon (Sarvartha Chintamani 4/132). Result : The mother of the person will have a long life.   Matru Sneha Yoga The Lagna and 4th house have the same ruler, or the lords of the 1st and 4th are temporal or natural friends or aspected by benefics (Sarvartha Chintamani 4/148). Result : There will be very good relationship between the person and his/her mother. Raja Yoga A mutual relationship exists between the Lagna lord on the one side and the lord of the 4th or 5th or 7th or 9th or 10th on the other. Result : This elevates the status of the individual in terms of success, recognition and status.   Raja Yoga A planet is in debilitation but with bright rays, or retrograde, and occupies favorable positions (Phala Deepika 7/3). Result : The person attains a position equivalent to a ruler, and holds all the insignia of royalty.   Raja Yoga The lord  of or the planet that would be exalted in a sign holding a debilitated planet is in a Kendra from Moon or Lagna (Sarvartha Chintamani 9/13). Result : The person will become a ruler or equal to a ruler of high rank.   Raja Yoga The lord of the Navamsha sign which the Moon occupies, resides in a Kendra or Trikona from Lagna or Mercury (Sarvartha Chintamani 9.28). Result : The person is or becomes a commander or equal to a ruler.   Raja Yoga Jupiter, Mercury, Venus or Moon are in the 9th house, associated or aspected by friendly planets, free from combustion (original source unknown). Result : The individual becomes a great man or a respected ruler.   Jaimini Raja Yoga The Moon and Venus together or the Moon aspected by Venus. Result : This elevates the status of the individual in terms of success, recognition and status.   Sunapha Yoga A planet, other than Sun, occupies the 2nd house from Moon. Look out for the variety with the same name. Result : This confers upon the person a status equivalent to a king, immense wealth, capacity to earn fortune through own efforts, wide renown, inclination towards virtuous deeds, quietude and contentment.   Maha-Parivartana Yoga The Lagna lord exchanges houses with the 2nd lord, or the 4th lord, or the 5th lord, or the 7th lord, or the 9th lord, or the 10th lord, or the 11th lord. Result : This combination promises wealth, status and physical enjoyments, plus beneficial influences from the houses involved.   Raja Sambandha Yoga The 10th lord from Lagna is conjunct or aspected by the dispositor of the Amatyakaraka or conjunct or aspected by the Amatyakaraka itself (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra 42/1). Result : The person will become a chief in the kings court (in modern context: in a high governmental position).</p>

Internal control of consciousness is accomplished in the final three stages: dharana, or concentration, dhyana, or meditation, and samadhi. Through such practices yogis acquire miraculous powers, which must ultimately be renounced to attain the highest state. In samadhi the subject-object distinction and one&#039;s sense of an individual self disappear in a state usually described as one of supreme peace, bliss, and illumination. A common feature of different traditions of yoga is one-pointed concentration on a chosen object, whether a part of the body, the breath, a mantra, a diagram, a deity, or an idea.</p>
<p>Hindu tradition in general recognizes three main kinds of yoga: jnana yoga, the path of realization and wisdom, bhakti yoga, the path of love and devotion to a personal God, and karma yoga, the path of selfless action. Other classifications exist. Pata&#241;jali&#039;s yoga is known as raja, or &#8220;royal,&#8221; yoga. Hatha yoga, which stresses physical control and postures, is widely practiced in the West. Kundalini yoga, especially associated with Tantra, is based on the physiology of the &#8220;subtle body,&#8221; according to which seven major centers of psychic energy, called chakras, are located along the spinal column, with the kundalini, or &#8220;coiled&#8221; energy in latent form, located at the base of the spine. When the kundalini is activated by yogic methods, it ascends the spine through the main subtle artery of the sushumna, &#8220;opening&#8221; each chakra in turn. When the kundalini reaches the topmost chakra in the brain, samadhi is attained.-</p>

<p>There are so many styles of Yoga that it can be confusing to anyone, who is taking the first step of beginning the practice. Not long ago, the only way to learn Yoga was through the student and teacher relationship. There are ancient writings and books, but Yoga, in all of its forms, was usually carried by the teacher to the student.</p>
<p>In the 21st century, you have many new choices for discovering wisdom, which took thousands of years to gather. Thanks to electricity, the computer age, and new technology, many of us can learn the answers to the mysteries of life in minutes. Will this make the art of teaching obsolete? Never!</p>
<p>Here is why the art of teaching will never be replaced by technology: People love the personal interaction with mentors, Gurus, and Yoga teachers. The Internet can produce a huge amount of information in minutes, but we often read, hear, or see differing opinions, which seem to have equal weight. If one has a competent teacher, he or she may be able to present a focused view of differing opinions.</p>
<p>If you visit a web site that states, &#8220;High blood pressure is always the fault of the patient.&#8221; Who is the author? What hard data is this opinion based upon? Upon further investigation, you discover that the author of the article has no knowledge or education in medical science. It is barely acceptable to make such claims after a study has been performed, but some opinions are not based on research, testing, or studies.</p>
<p>In Hatha Yoga, there seems to be two basic schools of thought. One is that the student should fit the requirements of the style or the requirements that a teacher has designed as a basic requirement. One good example of this would be to require every student to perform Triangle Pose (Trikonasana) without the use of a prop, such as blocks, stools, or chairs.</p>
<p>The only problem with this approach is that a student will eventually show up to class, who has limited range of motion for a variety of reasons. These reasons could be the age of the student, trauma, skeletal limitations, or a neurological disorder &#8211; such as, Frederick&#8217;s Ataxia. In such cases, the teacher has limited knowledge and discourages a student from attending his or her classes.</p>
<p>The opposing viewpoint is seen in therapeutic Yoga classes, where the style can be modified to suit the needs of every student, who manages to come through your doors. This requires Yoga teachers to embrace continuing education. When Hatha Yoga is therapeutic, it meets the needs of everyone.</p>
<p>There comes a point in life when we begin to realize that we are mere mortals. No matter how strong, tough, or arrogant, we think we are &#8211; one illness or automobile accident can suddenly change our lives. For any Yoga teacher to become the best he or she can be, we must continue to evolve with compassion as our guide.</p>

<p>How easy is it to get started? Very, all you need is a positive attitude, loose fitting clothes, a willingness to open yourself to learning, to enlightenment. It is normally advisable to practice yoga on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>There are Yoga poses to partake in and they are as followed:</p>
<p>* Warm up Poses: This is a general warm up to loosen tight muscles, each level<span id="more-65"></span> of yoga can offer different levels of warm ups.</p>
<p>* standing Poses: Again it all depends on what level yoga sessions you attend or practice, in general this covers hands to feet Pose, triangle Pose, sun salutation, Tree Pose, Stretch Pose, Warrior Pose and Stand spread leg forward fold.</p>
<p>* Seated Poses: These are exercises whilst seated, it is normal practice to use a yoga mat. The poses from this position again, according to the level you are on. Child Pose, Hero Pose, Spread leg forward fold, and seated forward bend.</p>
<p>* Supine Poses: This means exercise on your back, face up. Leg pulls, Leg raises, loctus Pose, Leg reclining Lunge and wind relieving Pose.</p>
<p>* Twist Poses: These exercises are wonderful for strengthening the back also for massaging the abdominal regions and improving the digestive system. The half spinal twist and sage twist.</p>
<p>* Back bends: These exercises are good for strengthening the arms, legs and abdomen and Offering flexibility in the spine.</p>
<p>* Inverted Postures,Balance Poses: These exercises are for increasing circulation, improving glandular system functioning, stimulating the brain and abdominal pressure relief. Plough, Headstand and Shoulder stand.</p>
<p>* Finishing Poses: These are as the title states, a relaxation for the end of a session.The final Corpse, The Corpse Pose or Savasana.</p>
<p>Yoga exercises are set in place to maintain a healthy mind as well as body, if you persevere with all the yoga pose the benefits are very rewarding, for mind, body and spirit. The beauty about Yoga practice is that you can practice at home or the office or any place you feel comfortable, it is always advisable not to exceed your limits, never go beyond your comfort zone unless you know what your are doing. <p><b class="titler">Good Exercises To Do When Pregnant</b><br />

<p>Most women can and should exercise when pregnant. Unless your pregnancy is high risk or your doctor has ordered you to stay in bed, there is no reason in fact you can&#8217;t exercise while pregnant. </p>
<p>Studies show that there are numerous benefits to exercising while pregnant. You can improve your energy levels, get your blood pumping to your legs and improve your circulation, and improve your chances for a speedy recovery. </p>
<p>Another reason to exercise? Moms who worked out while pregnant generally had shorter and easier labors. </p>
<p>So what kinds of exercises are good to do when pregnant?</p>
<p>Well let&#8217;s start with those you should avoid. You should avoid embarking on any stringent exercise program you are unfamiliar with. Avoid running and other jarring activities unless you are a very experienced runner. Even then you should consult with your physician.</p>
<p>Here are some generally good and safe exercises that are recommended during pregnancy:</p>
<p>Walking &#8211; This is the best overall exercise for pregnant mothers anywhere. It is low impact but still gets your heart rate up and your blood pumping. Walking is usually safe throughout the entire pregnancy.</p>
<p>Jogging &#8211; Jogging can be done safely if you are an experienced jogger. You should reduce your jogging regimen however the further along you are in your pregnancy. If you are not able to have a conversation when jogging, then you are working out too hard. </p>
<p>Swimming &#8211; This is the number one exercise and the safest exercise when it comes to pregnancy. Swimming alleviates the heaviness you feel from weight gain associated with pregnancy. It also provides you with optimal cardiovascular benefits and helps you feel light and refreshed. </p>
<p>Yoga &#8211; Yoga can help you maintain your muscle tone and stretch out tight ligaments during pregnancy. Be sure you investigate a pre-natal yoga class if at all possible. </p>
<p>Weight Training &#8211; Weight training is a great way to maintain and build muscle during your pregnancy. Just keep in mind you should avoid heavy weights and weight bearing exercises that require you to lie on your back. </p>
<p>To be safe you should always consult with your doctor or physician before beginning any exercise program. Most pregnant women are fine to work out particularly if they&#8217;ve been active before. </p>
<p>If you are just starting a program be sure to take it easy initially. You should also commit to exercising regularly. Generally 30 minutes of exercise 4-7 days per week is recommended. </p>
<p>One last point&#8230; be sure to keep hydrated and avoid over-heating which can be dangerous for you and your baby. Avoid getting your heart rate much over 140 and stop any exercise if you start to feel dizzy or lightheaded. </p>
<p>Also don&#8217;t forget the importance of warming up before any and all activity. You&#8217;ll reduce the likelihood of injury. Warm up after activities will also help your heart rate return to normal. </p>

<p>There are some Yoga teachers who refuse to teach beginner students. Their staff teaches new students, while they work with the &#8220;advanced&#8221; Yoga students, or they teach specialized master classes. It is understandable that if you run an extremely large ashram or studio, with hundreds of students, it may be difficult to bond with every new student who comes through your doors.</p>
<p>I know one Yoga teacher who has a strict policy regarding students. They must attend classes in her school for two years before she will grace them with her presence. This also includes making an appointment for admission to her office. As a result, most of her students have never met her, but they have the privilege of saying they attend her school.</p>
<p>On the other hand, a very different Yoga teacher, with an ashram, and an International following, makes time to meet every student who participates in activities within her ashram. She travels abroad to teach, but her beginner students have all met her, in or out of, classes.</p>
<p>Humility is a quality all of us should have. False pride can easily possess anyone who has success and prosperity. It happens to Holy men, who forget that people visit Holy grounds to worship a higher power. Sometimes, the Holy man begins to believe that participants are worshiping him. False pride has created poor political leaders, who forget they represent the interests of the people who elect them.</p>
<p>Beside humility, there are other reasons to spend quality time with beginner Yoga students. Beginners require extra attention; and that makes us think, which ultimately makes each of us better teachers. No two beginners are alike. We could profile similarities in our minds, but there are many differences in the body and mind of a new Yoga practitioner.</p>
<p>When we work with new students, who have unique problems, or less than ideal conditions, we learn and they learn from us. If we work with experienced Yoga students who never need help, modifications, or adjustments, our teachings have reached a &#8220;dead end.&#8221; They do not learn anything new from us, and we do not polish our skills.</p>
<p>When we reach a point where we cannot accept new ideas, or learn new methods to help students, we become &#8220;set in our ways.&#8221; There is a saying, &#8220;You can&#8217;t teach an old dog, new tricks.&#8221; As time goes by, some of us become rigid in our thinking. Worse yet, rigid thinkers rarely work toward improving anything. Rigid thought requires us to deny change and to repeat the same mistakes.</p>
<p>Therefore, enjoy teaching Yoga classes for new students. The energy and interest, within new students, is like a breath of fresh air. It will keep your mind young and your thoughts clear.</p>

<p>Kundalini Yoga For Stress Relief</p>
<p>Kundalini Yoga is one of the spiritual types of yoga that goes beyond the physical performance of asanas. With its emphasis on breathing, meditation and chanting &#8211; Kundalini Yoga creates a conscious connection with the Divine by removing all the obstacles and fluctuations of the mind. It raises the energy of our inner self to a higher frequency and opens our awareness to realize the ultimate peace. Kundalini lies at the base of the spine and is represented as a coiled serpent. As the Kundalini energy is awakened, it moves up from the base of the spine from Muladhara Chakra to the Sahasrara Chakra located at the top of the head.</p>
<p>The untapped energy or Prana within a human being can be awoken by awakening each of the seven chakras (Muladhara Chakra, Svadhishthana Chakra, Manipuraka Chakra, Anahata Chakra, Visuddha Chakra, Ajna Chakra and Sahasrara Chakra) through postures, movement, specialized breathing, hand gestures, body locks, chanting and sound. Full enlightenment of an individual is attained when the Kundalini energy reaches the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra). Kundalini Yoga strengthens and tones the nerves, glands and organs of the body and finally draws the mind and senses to an inward experience of deeper state of consciousness. Kundalini Yoga helps an individual to attain a feeling of bliss and awakens his dormant spiritual force.</p>
<p>The main purpose of awakening the Kundalini and moving the energy from the lower to the higher chakras is to give the practitioner an experience of the infinite. There are two phases of kundalini awakening &#8211; Purification and Awakening. In the Purification phase, several techniques of hatha yoga such as pranayama, asanas and kriyas are practiced. In the Awakening phase, the kundalini energy starts moving up from the base of the spine towards the top of the head (sahasrara chakra). Awakening phase is marked by more advanced pranayamas, mudras and bandhas. As Kundalini Yoga practices and meditation helps this untapped energy to rise above, the practitioner experiences a distinct transformation within himself. He feels much more relaxed and less stressed. </p>

<p><b class="titler">Breathing For Optimal Weight Training</b><br />

<p>In the world of fitness, there can be a vast difference in the method of which an individual will chose to maintain their health.  For many, even a healthy combination of different exercises throughout the week will center around a preferred exercise.  These favorites can range from the serenity of a low impact yoga session to the grunt work of a steel-assisted resistance program.  Through all the different tastes, there is one crucial element that applies for all &#8211; breathing.  Correct breathing will insure that plenty of oxygen makes its way through your body and sustains your essential bout of exercise.  </p>
<p>Weight lifting specifically has many rules of thumb when performing each repetition.  One common mistake is the urge to hold one&#8217;s breath, most often referred to as the Valsalva Maneuver.  While the Valsalva Maneuver is utilized in the medical field (to measure the autonomic reflex of cardio-pulmonary functioning), recreation (diver&#8217;s use it for clearing ears), entertainment (a modified version is used by trumpeters) and even in our daily life (in the bathroom&#8230;if you catch my drift), the combination of breath-holding mixed with lifting weights puts your health and safety at risk.  Holding your breath heavily increases your blood pressure, may cause headaches, dizziness or lead to unconsciousness and even land you in the hospital with a stroke.  </p>
<p>Another common mistake is chest breathing.  When a person breathes through their chest, their upper body will rise with each inhalation.  This method takes a lot of energy to execute as you will need far more breaths per minute and still be less oxygenated than if you were to perform the correct method which is stomach breathing.  You may have learned this if you are a fan of Yoga class, in which Pranayama uses controlled and deep cleansing breathing.  When you breathe through your stomach, you will notice your stomach expands and your chest, nor upper body, will move much at all.  As a woman in snug-fitting workout attire, the last thing we want to hear is let our tummy expand when inhaling, but if you want to insure an effective routine throughout your session, you will need to supply your body with adequate oxygen which is done through stomach breathing.</p>
<p>To assist you with your breathing, remember to breathe through pursed lips.  After an invigorating inhalation, exhaling through pursed lips will maintain air pressure in your airways.  In effect, it will help your airway clear out more stale air, in addition to controlling your breathing rate (include shortness of breath), increasing the flow of air out of your lungs and reducing your bodily energy required to take the next breath.</p>
<p>Finally, a good rule of thumb is that when performing a repetition, the hardest part necessitating focus for good form and strength is when you will be exhaling.  Most often, you will find it is during the contraction of the movement.  As an example, when performing a Bicep Curl, you will exhale as you pull the weight toward your shoulder.  After pausing for a moment at the shoulder, you will begin your inhalation as you slowly lower the weight back to starting position.</p>
<p>Though breathing is an involuntary process, it can enhanced by your own conscientiousness.  Proper breathing takes practice as studies show that up to 83% of adults have developed improper techniques.  Collectively, all the facets of proper breathing will not only insure an effective workout, but also lower your stress (including all of its disease-ridden effects), rid your body of a fair amount of toxins and lead to overall better health.</p>
